树脂结合剂金刚石砂轮可用作切入式研磨和成型。研磨由于金刚石研磨剂的特性（高硬度，高抗压强度和良好的耐磨性），它是研磨硬脆材料和硬质合金的理想工具。它不仅高效，而且精度高，粗糙度好，磨耗低，使用寿命长，工作条件改善。
因此，它广泛用于低铁含量金属和非金属硬脆材料，如硬质合金，高铝陶瓷，光学玻璃，玛瑙宝石，以及难以用普通研磨工具加工的半导体材料。
