GD-2801C Needle Penetrometer is designed and made as per the National Standard GB/T 4509 “Test Methods for Needle Penetration of Petroleum Asphalt”, GB/T 269 “Test Methods for Cone Penetration of Lubricating Grease and Petroleum Grease”, and T0604 “Asphalt Penetration Test” in the Industry Standard JTJ052Specification and Test Methods of Bitumen and Bituminous Mixture for Highway Engineering. It is used to determine penetration of asphalt and lubricating grease.

1. Asphalt: the needle penetration of asphalt is expressed as the depth that a standard needle of 100±0.05 g vertically penetrates into a sample without any measurable friction in 5 seconds in the constant temperature bath of 25°C±0.1°C. It is to evaluate consistency of asphalt. The larger the penetration is, the less the consistency is and the softer the asphalt is.

2. Lubricating grease: the cone penetration of lubricating grease or petroleum grease is expressed as the depth that a standard cone of 150 g vertically penetrates into a sample without any measurable friction in 5 seconds in the constant temperature bath of 25°C±0.1°C. It is used to evaluate the hardness of lubricating grease or petroleum grease.

It can also be used for solid granule, powder, colloid and other materials test, as well as cream, glycine, butter, margarine cream, fermentation, and other food inspection. It has been widely used in food, highway construction and other industries.

1. Timing device: you can select 5, 8, 10, 12, 30 or 60 s. timing error is less than ±0.1 s.

2. Depth measurement device: It uses racks to drive raster for display. It is convenient, rapid, and intuitive, and it can be started at any position.

3. Penetration accuracy:±1 penetration;

4. Maximum penetration: 600 penetrations;

5. Heating power: 220 W;

6. Temperature controlling accuracy: 25±0.1°C (the ambient temperature should not be higher than 20 °C)

7. Constant temperature bath: made of harden glass;

8. Standard needle: 2.5±0.05g; as per GB/T4509, and T0604;

9. Standard cone: 102.5±0.05g; as per GB/T269;
