人生长激素（hGH）是由脑垂体前叶，含有嗜酸性颗粒的生长激素（GH）分泌细胞所分泌，为191个氨基酸构成的肽类激素。本品是通过基因重组大肠杆菌分 泌型表达技术生产的重组人生长激素（rhGH），其氨基酸含量及序列与人生长激素完全相同。本品是在大肠杆菌（E.Coli）中合成的。合成是通过前激素 （prehormone）进行的。该前激素是由自然存在于细菌中的，与信号肽连接的生长激素组成。前激素在细菌的细胞内壁中分裂，释放与天然生长激素完全 相同的终产品进入壁膜间隙，然后仅破坏细胞外壁来收集，而细胞内壁保持完好，以保证绝少细菌蛋白污染终产品。
