Carbon Steel Plate S50c
S50C steel has good property of cutting and machinability. It's widely used for plastic mold base plate, machinery parts and so on.
The carbon content of S50C is more than 0.4%, which makes its good wearing resistance and high strength. However, due to high carbon content, which element can make easy deformation and crack, quenching is so important to the S50C. At the same time, it should be quick cooling after tempering, in case of temper brittleness.
JIS G4051 Standard specifies the carbon steels for machine structural use manufactured by hot forming, such as hot rolling or hot forging, ordinarily to be used after further process of forging, cutting and heat treat-ment, hereinafter referred to as the "steel"
