Description of ZhongtianRTV Silicone Rubber
RTV silicone rubber is a new type of silicone elastomer introduced in the 1960s. The most significant feature of this rubber is that it can be cured in place at room temperature without heating or pressure, making it extremely easy to use. It has become an important part of the whole silicone products. RTV silicone rubber is a new type of silicone elastomer, used in the manufacture of de-alcohol type, de-acetic acid type, de-ketoxime type of one-component, two-component sealant, etc. It has very good mold release, especially suitable for the manufacture of precision molds; also cocoa for electronic potting adhesive, as insulation materials. Classification of Vulcanized Silicone Rubber
According to its different vulcanization methods, silicone rubber can be divided into high temperature vulcanized (hot vulcanization) silicone rubber and room temperature vulcanized (including low temperature vulcanization) silicone rubber two categories. No matter which type of silicone rubber, vulcanization does not occur when the exothermic phenomenon. High temperature vulcanized silicone rubber is a high molecular weight polysiloxane (molecular weight is generally 400,000 to 800,000), and room temperature vulcanized silicone rubber generally has a lower molecular weight (30,000 to 60,000).
Room temperature vulcanized silicone rubber (RTV) has one or two functional groups at each end of the molecular chain (sometimes also in the middle), and under certain conditions (moisture in the air or a suitable catalyst), these functional groups can react to form a high molecular weight cross-linked structure.
According to its vulcanization mechanism, it can be divided into condensation type and addition type.
According to its packaging method, it can be divided into two types of two-component and one-component.
Precautions about Room Temperature Vulcanized Silicone Rubber
The base material, crosslinker and catalyst are first weighed separately and then mixed in proportion.
Usually the two components should be offered in different colors so that the mixing of the two components can be visually observed. The mixing process should be done carefully to minimize the amount of entrapped gas. After the compound is well mixed (uniform color), the air bubbles can be removed by standing or by decompression (vacuum 700 mmHg), and after all the air bubbles are discharged, the silicone rubber is vulcanized at room temperature or at a specified temperature for a certain time.

Room temperature vulcanized silicone rubber is widely used as potting and mold making materials. Various electronic and electrical components coated and potted with room temperature vulcanized silicone rubber are widely used as sealing in automobile and machinery industries, anti-vibration materials, rubber roller materials in textile, plastic and printing industries, and inlay sealing materials in construction industries. It can also be used to make soft molds for casting epoxy resin, polyester resin, polystyrene, polyurethane, vinyl plastic, paraffin wax, low melting point alloy, etc. In addition, the high simulation performance of two-component room temperature vulcanized silicone rubber can be used to replicate various exquisite patterns on the artifacts.
