Calcium Formate (Feed Grade)
Feed-grade calcium formate powderis a calcium salt that includes formic acid, comprising 31% calcium and 69% formic acid. It maintains a neutral pH level and contains minimal water content. When blended into additive premixes, calcium formate does not result in vitamin degradation. Furthermore, in the presence of gastric acid, free formic acid can separate, contributing to a reduction in gastric pH.
Importantly, calcium formate possesses a high melting point, only undergoing decomposition when exposed to temperatures exceeding 400°C. This characteristic ensures its stability throughout the granulation process without being compromised.
Characteristics of Feed Grade Calcium Formate
As a feed additive, it is suitable for various animals, reducing gastrointestinal pH, and improving the digestibility of feed nutrients.
Maintain a low pH in the gastrointestinal tract to prevent diarrhea associated with bacterial infections.
It can promote the absorption of minerals in the intestinal tract, improve the energy utilization rate of natural metabolites, improve the feed conversion rate, and improve the survival rate and daily weight gain rate of piglets.

Calcium Formate's main function in animal feed:
As a new feed additives. Feeding calcium formate could weight the livestock and poultry, piglet feed additives with calcium formate, can promote piglet appetite and reduce diarrhea rate. In the first weeks after weaning,1.5%calcium formate in the feed, piglets growth rate can be increased by more than 12%, feed conversion rate increased by 4%.
Transportation and Storage of Feed Grade Calcium Formate
Avoid to rain, sun, acid and oxidizing substances during the transportation. It's better to be stored in dry and ventilated warehouse, avoid to water, damp and away from acid and oxidizing substances. The shelf life is two years since the production date.
