The seamless rolled ring forging processcombines strength, toughness, and fatigue resistance through a unique grain flow.

The process begins with cutting the initial material stock to size and then rounding it using open die presses. This rounded piece is subsequently upset and pierced to create a preform, essentially arolled ring forgingready for the ring rolling mill. On the rolling mill, axial rolls control the ring's height, while an idler roll applies pressure against a drive roll.
