Irbesartan by selectively blocking the AT1 receptor of AnglII, it can inhibit the conversion of AngI into AngII, and can specifically antagonize the ACE 1 receptor (AT1). Irbesartan's antagonistic effect on AT1 is 8500 times that of AT2, which inhibits vasoconstriction and the release of aldosterone by selectively blocking AngII's binding to AT1 receptors, resulting in a hypotensive effect.
