Kaplan Hydro Turbines (Propeller Turbines)
Runner diameters: 0.6-3m Suitable water head: H=3-30m Capacity of the generator unit: 160-20000kw The speed range of the turbine: 60-750rpm
* The propeller type is with a vertical axle and fixed runner, blade angle can not be changed during operation mode, the efficiency curve is steep and this type is generally suitable for power station that has water head with slight change or its operating units can be adjusted according to actual load change.
* The Kaplan type is with adjustable runner controlled by oil servomotor and moved according to the load/head change to ensure higher average efficiency, the efficiency of some Kaplan turbine is higher than 94%.
