If the truss girder structure is adopted, the wind resistance will be about only 1/3 (it differs according to different situations) when for heavy load operations, which will further lower crane driven power consumption. It means the use-cost during the long time operation will be highly reduced (rated output of generator will be reduced further also).2. If the truss girder structure is adopted it will reduce the equipment weight under same specifications. And this weight reduction will bring a chain reaction, which reduces the rail foundation pressure, lowers the cost of the crane itself, cuts the lifting cost of installation, reduces the time of installation &commissioning, etc. All these will lower the total investment cost correspondingly.3. Generally speaking the price for truss girder gantry is about 15%~30% cheaper than box girder gantry under same specifications.
