Briefly Introduce:
The Hydrospring tester/MFE is used in the open hole for drill stem testing operation, it consists of three basic sections: indexing, delay, and sampling. Each of these sections will be described in detail below.
Features
*Dual control valves provide a safety factor to insure a successful test.
*A sample of formation fluid taken under dynamic conditions at the end of the final flow period.
*Positive control of tool operation using only up and down motion of the drill stem.
*There is a designed unbalance on the mandrel which tends to keep the testing valve in the closed position.
*The sample section has a Safety Relief Valve to satisfy I.C.C. safety requirements. This was necessary since the entire Multi-Flow Evaluator on occasion may be sent to a laboratory to drain the sampler under conditions. In case of an accident or fire during transport, excessive pressures could be generated in the sampler section due to high temperatures. To prevent splitting of the Sampler Housing under these conditions, the Safety Relief Valve vents this pressure into the I.D. of the tool if the pressure exceeds 11,500 psi .
