Phosphatidylserine Daily Intake

Phosphatidylserine is found naturally in foods such as white beans, soybeans, egg yolks, beef, and chicken liver, but we get it from food in very low amounts. Phosphatidylserine liquidis considered safe by the medical community and the daily intake is 600mg. Many experts recommend taking 100mg to 300mg daily in divided doses throughout the day.

For most of us, phosphatidylserine acts as a mild sleep aid, helping us fall asleep in less time. It also regulates cortisol and metabolism, helping to maintain a balanced sleep cycle. However, be careful with the amount used, too much phosphatidylserine can cause insomnia, especially in light sleepers. This is because phosphatidylserine increases the alertness of the brain, so light sleepers may have trouble falling asleep, a rare side effect that doesn't matter to most people.
