1. Function and Application
The Carpet Resiliency Tester is designed in strict accordance with General Motors Test Specification GMW 3026 to evaluate the durability and rebound characteristics of carpet nap materials. It determines how well a carpet surface recovers from deformation under dynamic loading, providing critical insight into long-term wear performance and aesthetic retention.
The tester applies a defined rotational load to the carpet sample, creating a controlled indentation that simulates real-world mechanical stress such as repeated foot traffic or seat pressure. The instrument’s precise motion and consistent drop frequency ensure accurate and repeatable test results.
