Finger Tip Abrasion Tester,IEC 60068,Fingertip Wear Testing Machine

The Finger Tip Abrasion Tester is designed to simulate human fingertip contact on a test specimen by applying a defined load, stroke, and speed. It evaluates the abrasion resistance and durability of surfaces subjected to frequent tactile interaction, such as control panels, touch surfaces, switches, and coatings.

Application

The applied load is set using dead weights, and the scrub (abrading) distance is adjustable from 1 to 4 mm, allowing precise adaptation to different test materials and geometries. This tester supports a wide range of applications, including mechanical abrasion and chemo-mechanical testing when liquids such as artificial sweat, hydraulic oil, or cleaning solutions are applied to the test fabric.

Test Procedures

Measure and record specimen dimensions and thickness.

Secure the sample in the fixture and align properly.

Adjust fingertip mechanism height according to specimen thickness.

Install friction pad or chemical carrier.

Set load, friction stroke, and cycle count.

Start the device and monitor operation.

When the set cycle count is reached, the device automatically stops.

Remove the sample and evaluate surface appearance or performance changes.

Record and organize test results.

Maintenance Information

Keep fingertip heads and clamps clean to avoid contamination.

Inspect moving parts and mechanism for wear regularly.

Replace silicone fingertips or friction pads when worn.

Check and calibrate load weights and counter periodically.

Store in a clean, dry environment to prevent corrosion or damage.
