Application
It simulates real-world wear scenarios, such as foot rubbing, cross-legged seating, or material abrasion, using felt, rubber, abrasive papers, or fabric pads.
The system allows testing dry or wet, using distilled water or synthetic perspiration, and evaluates color change or marring against standard gray scales in controlled lighting conditions.

Test Procedures
Cut specimens and rubbing media according to the relevant standard and perform preconditioning if required.
Mount the specimen onto the clamp and apply the specified linear tension.
Select and install the felt pad or other specified rubbing medium.
Set the rubbing load, speed, and number of cycles.
Start the tester to perform dry or wet rubbing.
After completion, remove the specimen and rubbing medium.
Evaluate color change and color transfer using the grey scale under standard lighting conditions.
Record results and generate test documentation.
Maintenance Information
Regularly inspect felt pads and rubbing media; replace when worn or contaminated.
Keep clamps and rubbing heads clean to avoid cross-contamination between tests.
Periodically check fasteners, bearings, and drive components for proper operation.
Ensure the cooling fan is unobstructed to maintain thermal stability.
Store the instrument in a clean, dry environment when not in use.
