Adipicacid, commonly known as fatty acid, is also called hexanedicarboxylicacid, molecular formula for C6H10O4,molecular weight is 146.14.Ar room temperature it is monocliniccrystal.Meltingpoint 152℃, boiling point 337.5℃, the relative density is 1.366. It is soluble in ethanol, ethyl ether, acetone, etc., product ofadipicacidis white, odorless, crystallinesolid.Ithas good stability in air, it is slightly soluble in water, easy soluble in alcohol, ether and most organic solvents, it has connectivity of aliphatic dibasic acid, including salt reaction, esterification andamidationreaction, etc., it can be condensed into a polymer withdiamine.
Applications:Adipicacid can be carried on condensation reaction withpolyfunctionalcompounds, such asadipicamine. In industry, usingadipicacid withhexamethylenediaminesohoreaction produce nylon 66 salt (AH salt for short), by furtherpolycondensationof nylon 66 salt, can get nylon 66 resin. In addition,reacting with alcohols,adipicacid can produceadipate, used as plasticizer, synthetic lubricant and polyesterpolyolsand otherproducts,can be used for all kinds of food and drink sour agent. Due to no n-deliquescence,adipicacid is especially suitable for dry food, can be stored for a long time.
