Liraglutide is a long-acting glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) analog. As GLP-1, liraglutide induces insulin secretion from β-cells by binding to GLP receptors in the pancreas.
Liraglutide is indicated to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
