Eptifibatide is an inhibitor of plateletaggregation belonging to the class of RGD (arginine-glycine-aspartate)mimetics.
Eptifibatide reversibly inhibits platelet aggregation by preventing the bindingof fibrinogen, von Willebrand factor and other adhesive ligands to theglycoprotein (GP) IIb/IIIa receptors.
