Fused Silica Precision Lenses for Solid State Laser applications
A biconvex lens is a positive lens characterized by a longer focal length in the middle and shorter focal lengths at both ends. These lenses are used in a wide variety of applications such as camera lenses, projectors, telescopes and microscopes. Bi-convex lenses are often used to expand light beams. Bi-convex lensesare made of optical glass and are convex on both sides. The center of the lens is thicker than the edges, which provides a focal point for the light rays entering the lens. The focal length of a biconvex lens depends on the curvature of the lens and the refractive index of the glass.
