Titanium carbide guide wheels for cable armor processing
Hard alloy titanium carbide guide wheels are critical guiding components used in the manufacturing processes of wire and tube materials. These guide wheels are fabricated through powder metallurgy sintering, utilizing high-purity titanium carbide and a cobalt binder phase. Their surface hardness reaches up to HRC88, and their wear resistance is more than 50 times greater than that of conventional steel guide wheels. The roundness error is precisely controlled within 0.002 mm, ensuring smooth wire movement during high-speed drawing (up to 100 m/s) and preventing vibration or deviation. In stainless steel wire production, the application of these guide wheels can reduce the surface roughness of the wire from Ra1.6 μm to Ra0.4 μm, significantly enhancing product quality. Additionally, hard alloy titanium carbide guide wheels exhibit excellent impact resistance; under sudden tension or wire breakage, they are less likely to crack or deform, thereby minimizing the risk of equipment downtime. These guide wheels also possess superior thermal conductivity, enabling rapid dissipation of heat generated by friction. This ensures that the operating temperature remains below 80°C, preventing thermal annealing of the wire. In spring steel wire production, the use of these guide wheels maintains the straightness error of the wire within 0.5 mm per meter, thereby improving the fatigue life of the resulting springs.
