Copper Wire mesh is a yellowish red color when first woven and will gradually patina (discolor) to a greenish/bluish called verdigris. This patina effect may be accelerated by first removing surface oil from the mesh using "Shower Power" TM or a similar mild household cleaning product. After rinsing it well, the copper will shine, but will be unprotected.
The unique green color of the patina that develops over time makes copper mesh a very popular option for designers, artists, architects, and homeowners.
