Copper Wire mesh is a yellowish red color when first woven and will gradually patina (discolor) to a greenish/bluish called verdigris. This patina effect may be accelerated by first removing surface oil from the mesh using "Shower Power" TM or a similar mild household cleaning product. After rinsing it well, the copper will shine, but will be unprotected.
