High Frequency Welded Spiral Fin Tubes
HIGH FREQUENCY WELDED SPIRAL FINNED TUBEThe high frequency welded spiral finned tube is one kind of tubular type efficient heat transfer element having spiral fins. The extended surfaces (fins) could be either solid or serrated create several to dozens of times of the heat transfer area than bare tube. WHY USE FINNED TUBES● To improve the heat transfer efficiency in the effective space.● To Reduce the required installation space for the required heat transfer surfaces● To lower equipment cost while having higher operational reliability.● The running cost is lowered due to lower tube side pressure drop.● The rigidity of tube is increased, which improves the seismic resistance of the tube.● Enhancement of heat transfer, reduction on flow resistance and metal consumption DIMENSION AND MATERIALThe following table shows Simcan’s manufacturing capabilities for high frequency welded spiral finned tube:Tube O.D.:16 to 273 (mm)3/8” to 10”(NPS)Tube Wall Thk.:2 to 28.6 (mm)0.08” to 1.1”Tube Length:≤28,000 (mm)≤92 ftFin Thk.:0.5 to 3.5 (mm)0.02” to 0.14”Fin Height:8 to 35 (mm)0.31” to 1.3”Fin Pitch:3 to 333 FPM1 to 8 FPIFin Type:Solid, “U”or“V” SerratedFin Material:C.S. FABRICATION PROCESSThe steel fin is helically wound and continuously welded to the tube by high frequency electric resistance welding(HFERW). The high-frequency current is introduced into the work piece, and the welding contact surface is melted or semi-melted by resistance heat, then apply appropriate pressure to the weld contact surface to complete the welding of the finned tube. This produces an homogeneous, clean and continuous fin-to-tube bond with no additional weld material, for a very efficient heat flow and resistance to corrosion.APPLICAITONSSimcan's high frequency welded spiral finned tubes are generally used for petrochemical industry and mostly installed on the convection sections of fired heaters, waste heat boilers, economizers, air preheaters, and heat exchangers involving the transfer of heat from a hot fluid to a colder fluid through a tube wall.FAQQ1. What is the referenced codes and standards?A: We manufacture according to requirements specified as below:● HG/T 3181-2009 High Frequency Resistance Welded Spiral Fin Tubes● International Standard For Dimensions, Tolerances and Tests of High Frequency Resistance Welded Fins● Material Requisition, drawings or Technical Agreement Q2.How do you pack the productsA: Each package is designed and made according to seaworthy packing standard and clients’ handling and lifting capability.Finned tubes will be packed into steel frameworks and wrapped with weather proof PE film and plywood board covering up. In addition, each row of finned tubes will be isolated from adjacent with plywood bars to prevent rigid impact during transportation. For all exporting packages, we only use plywood instead of wood for fumigation free purpose. Q3: How do you guarantee the quality?A: we are ISO certified company and we maintain strict controls according to our specific written procedures and client specifications during all phases of manufacturing of our products ensuring full materials traceability and top quality. Besides, inspection activities carried out by world reputable third party such as TÜV, BV, SGS, Lloyd's, ABS, Intertek(Moody) etc. is available on call. Q4: Do you have design capability?A: Yes, we could develop the shop drawings and submit for clients’ approval. Q4: How do you handle the documentation?A: As a professional supplier, Simcan does not only manufactures products but also has strong capability on preparing and submitting documents as listed below but not limited to:● Before FabricationDesign and Fabrication ScheduleDrawings and dataFabrication Procedures including WPS, PQRInspection and Test Plan (ITP)● During FabricationDaily, weekly or monthly progress report● After FabricationA complete set of final archive including:Raw Material Mill CertificatesProduct Conformity CertificatesInspection Reports including Material Receipt Inspection Report, Test Report etc.Packing List and Proforma InvoiceCertificate of Origin or any other documentation mandatory for clients’ customs clearance or tax preference
