Use of Monel Alloy:
The structure of the K500 Haomonnell alloy is a single phase solid solution with high strength. It is a kind of corrosion resistant alloy with the largest dosage, the most widely used and the best comprehensive performance. The alloy has excellent corrosion resistance in hydrofluoric acid and fluorine medium as well as excellent corrosion resistance to hot concentrated alkali solution. Also resistant to neutral solutions, water, seawater, atmosphere, organic compounds and so on. An important feature of the alloy is that it does not produce stress corrosion cracking and has good cutting performance. The alloy is mainly used for valve stem, pump shaft and impeller, conveyer scraper, well drilling ring, elastic parts, valve pad and so on.
Corrosion resistance of NCu30-2-1 Monel alloy steel K500 Monel alloy steel
The alloy has excellent corrosion resistance in fluorine gas, hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, hydrofluoric acid and their biota.
Acid medium: M400 is corrosion-resistant in sulphuric acid of less than 85% concentration. M400 is one of the few important materials in hydrofluoric acid.
Water corrosion: under most water corrosion conditions, M400 alloy not only has excellent corrosion resistance, but also the pitting corrosion and stress corrosion are seldom found, and the corrosion rate is less than 0.025mm/a.
High temperature corrosion: the maximum temperature of M400 working continuously in air is generally about 600 ℃, and in high temperature steam, the corrosion rate is less than 0.026 mm / a.
Ammonia: due to the high nickel content of Monel 400 alloy, it can resist corrosion under the condition of anhydrous ammonia and ammoniation below 585 ℃.
The corrosion resistance of Monel K500 in general solution state is basically the same as that of Monel 400 alloy. Therefore, the corrosion resistance data of Monel 400 can be applied to Monel K500 alloy. Because of its low corrosion rate in flowing seawater and high strength of the alloy, the alloy is especially suitable for the manufacture of centrifugal pump shafts resistant to seawater corrosion.
