It is used to formulate fruit (apricot, peach, pineapple, melon, etc.) flavors and wine (old Langjiu) flavors in the spice industry. In addition, rose oil flavor, cigarette flavor is also used. Ethyl butyrate is used as a solvent in industry, which can dissolve nitrocellulose fiber and many kinds of natural or synthetic resin.
