CFS-553 Methyltrimethoxysilane, Cas No. 1185-55-3
CFS-553 Methyltrimethoxysilane is one of the most common crosslinkers. This alkyl silane is normally acting as a crosslinking agent for the preparation of RTV (Room Temperature Vulcanized) silicone rubbers. CFS-553 is also an important intermediate for coating polymers and a surface modifier for glass fiber. It is well-known as the equivalent of Momentive Silquest*A-1630 or Dynasylan® MTMS.
MethyltrimethoxysilaneApplication
CFS-553 is normally used as a cross-linking agent and an intermediate for silicone rubbers and organic silicone compounds. It also performs as a constituent of silica gels and silicone resins.
CFS-553 can also be used for fillers treatment and surface modification. It’s especially suitable for surface treatment of glass fiber.
CFS-553 can act as a cross-linking agent for room temperature vulcanized silicone rubber and a treating agent for reinforced plastic laminated products.

CFS-553 is offered in 25L PE pails, 200L PVF steel drums and 1000L IBC totes.

Methyltrimethoxysilane Storage
CFS-553 is a highly flammable liquid. It should be stored in a cool, well-ventilated place, and avoid exposure to humidity.
CFS-553 should be stored in its original containers and used up as soon as possible after opening.
When stored in a strictly sealed and unopened container, CFS-553 has a shelf life of 12months.
