It is soluble in water, ethanol, ethyl acetate, and toluene. Polysorbateglycol sorbitan monooleate is a surfactant with numerous applications in food, pharmaceutical, and cosmetics; other than that, it can also use as an emulsifier for culture medium to reduce the surface tension of the medium, which enhances the growth of cells.
