DL-Alanine Powder
DL-Alanine ishighly soluble in waterand has strong hygroscopicity (tendency to absorb moisture from the air). Moisture absorption causes the crystalline powder to clump (cake), reducing its flowability (critical for industrial batching) and potentially promoting hydrolysis (breakdown of amino acid structure) in long-term storage.
- Recommended relative humidity (RH): ≤ 60%. Store in a dry, well-ventilated area (avoid basements, kitchens, or other high-humidity spaces).
- Moisture-proof measures: Use original packaging (typically moisture-proof polyethylene bags or aluminum-plastic composite bags with heat-sealed closures) or transfer to airtight containers (e.g., HDPE plastic buckets, glass jars with rubber gaskets) if the original package is opened. Add desiccants (e.g., silica gel packets, calcium chloride) to the storage container for extra moisture protection, especially in humid climates.
