CAT40 Tool Holder Collet Chucks for CNC Milling Machine
CAT tools were developed by an American company Caterpillar? and are used in CNC machinery.
CAT tapered tool holders are similar to BT tapered tool holders. The difference between CAT and BT is the flange style, thickness, and the thread for the pull stud is a different size.
CAT tools are also known as Caterpillar “V-flange”. CAT tool holders are designed as flexible devices that will accommodate different tools within a certain range of sizes. They will accept both imperial and metric sized tools. They consist of a taper (shank) and a holding head (flange). The Morse taper (male part) fits in the spindle’s female coupling, providing precise positioning of the tool and ability to switch it quickly.
CAT 40 ER collet chuck toolholders features: 1, Balanced to 25,000 RPM at G2.5 2, T.I.R. 0.0001" measured from taper to collet pocket 3, Taper ground to AT3 or better specification ensures 80% or more contact with spindle to reduce harmonics and improve runout tolerance 4, Inside bore are precision turned to engage a better contact with retention knob's pilot to increase rigidity 5, Precision turning surface finish provide perpendicular contact with the flange of retention knob to increase rigidity 6, Holder hardness : 58 HRC 7, Coolant through and Anti Rust design
