Introduction to the Automatic Down Filling Tester

The loftiness index is one of the important indicators of feather and down quality. It is a concentrated manifestation of the internal quality in terms of elasticity and thermal insulation performance.

At the same time, it also indirectly reflects the degree of dispersion of the various components of feathers and down. Loftiness testing is an important part of down testing.

It refers to the elasticity of down (feathers), which is obtained by measuring the volume occupied by a certain amount of sample down (feathers) under a constant weight pressure in a container with a certain caliber. Since the greater the loftiness, the greater the amount of static air contained, and the static air layer is a good thermal insulation layer, there is a good linear relationship between the loftiness of down and the thermal insulation performance of down products.
