1.Malting:Inthisphasethemaltisgroundtoextractitscontents.Specialmillsareusedinmaltingbecauseitisimportantthattheshellbeaswholeaspossibletoavoidtheextractionofunwantedsubstancesintheprocess.

6.Ripening:Thefinalflavoroftheproductisacquiredduringtheripeningprocess.Thefinalflavorisproducedatverylowtemperaturesofabout0°C.Afterseveralweeksofrestingduringtheripeningprocess,whichproducesflavor,thebeerisreadyforthelastphaseoftheprocess.
