What is an access control tripod turnstile used for ?
Access control tripod turnstile is a simple, economical and compact waist high access control turnstile with three revolving arms, coming with chassis, mechanism, and three blocking rods, providing dissuasive automated access control for sites with heavy use. Tripod turnstile access control system adopts precisely control the movement position to ensure it runs more accurately and stably, made of stainless steel in a modern style, providing a secure, elegant and modern-looking solution for outdoor and indoor applications. On the other hand, access control tripod turnstile is simplified integration to access control and visitor management systems, acting as an ideal crowd control solution for any location that requires effective crowd management, slowing pedestrian traffic flow down for facilitating closer monitoring of ingress by security guards.

How does an access control tripod turnstile mechanism works?
The mechanical transmission system of the access control tripod turnstile is mainly composed of: the main shaft, front & rear bearing seats, buffer mechanism, electromagnetic coil seat, rotation mechanism, three-claw wheel, ratchet wheel, the reset mechanism. To enter, the pedestrians scan their valid barcodes or cards, and the electronic verification system will verify, record, and then send a signal to the control circuit to make the solenoid energized and rotate 90°. At this time, the green signal light is turned on, and the pedestrians pass through by manually push the brake lever, and then the reset mechanism restores the brake lever to home position. After solenoid completes the power-on control time, the power is turned off and reversed. Meanwhile, the ratchet wheel and the rotary brake support wheel are in a locked state, and the passage is locked waiting for next entry.

The types of access control tripod turnstile
According to the operational way, access control tripod turnstile can be divided into 3 types
Fully automatic access control tripod turnstile: equipped with brushless motor which used to control the operation and stop of movement. The arms of fully-automatic tripod turnstile gate will rotate towards the open direction for a certain angle after receving a valid open signal, and the arms will go on rotating automatically to the open direction after the user push them slightly. The arm will automatically drop when it is powered off, and automatically go up when power on.
Semi-automatic access control tripod turnstile: supplied with electromagnets to control the operation and stop of movement. The electromagnet drives the unlocking arm to unlock after receving a valid open signal, and then the release-lever rotates in a single direction, and the users slightly push the arm for entry. The arm will automatically drop when power off and the arm will be raised by hand when power on. Meanwhile, the users need to push the lever before entry after swipping their cards.
Mechanic tripod access control tripod turnstile: it is purely mechanical device without any electrical equipment. The users pass through the passage by gently pushing the brake lever without open signal from access control system. The automatic positioning and reset system can control the free passage in one direction, and the other direction is locked.
