Phosphatidylserine powder
Phosphatidylserine powder, also known as diacylglycerol phosphorylserine powder, serine phospholipid powder, or complex neural antigen, is a widely distributed phospholipid. Phosphatidylserine powder exists as a white waxy solid or light yellow loose powder, insoluble in methanol, ethanol, anhydrous acetone, soluble in ether, petroleum ether, chloroform, and emulsifiable in water. Its molecular formula is C42H82NO10P, with a relative molecular mass of 792. It has a melting point of 135°C, a boiling point of 165°C, and a flash point of 335°C.
When exposed to air, phosphatidylserine powder is prone to oxidation. Upon oxidation, its color gradually deepens from white to yellow and then to black. Generally, phosphatidylserine is almost unaffected, and under saturated conditions, phosphatidylserine and alcohol can form an intertwined chain-like gel.
If phosphatidylserine powder is dissolved in water, aside from a very small fraction forming a true solution, the majority remains as insoluble lipid clusters.
