Phosphatidylserine Powder
The most well-documented and widely used application of phosphatidylserine supplements is the improvement of cognitive function, targeting age-related cognitive decline and age-associated memory impairment (AAMI).
With aging, the endogenous phosphatidylserine content in brain tissue decreases progressively, leading to reduced neuronal membrane fluidity, impaired synaptic transmission, and ultimately cognitive decline. Exogenous phosphatidylserine supplementation replenishes the phosphatidylserine pool in brain cells, inhibits the overactivation of pro-inflammatory pathways (e.g., NF-κB pathway) in the brain, and reduces the accumulation of oxidative stress markers (e.g., reactive oxygen species, lipid peroxides) in neuronal cells. Long-term supplementation helps slow the progression of age-related cognitive decline and lowers the risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease (AD) in high-risk populations.
