105E Thermocouple Sensor
105E is a commonly used shielded No. 24 type E thermocouple, which is suitable for measuring soil temperature and the temperature of similar environments. The thermocouple contact is separated from the medium during measurement, thus avoiding measurement errors due to the potential difference of the earth.
The 105E is usually buried in soil or other media during measurement. The sensor should be placed horizontally in the depth of the soil layer to be measured to avoid heat conduction from the surface of the soil to the measurement junction. Because the cable is too long and the sensor is vulnerable to reclamation or lightning strikes, the sensor cable needs to be placed in a wrapped conduit.
