Acrylate Structural Adhesive
— commonly called MMA adhesive, methacrylate adhesive, or reactive acrylic adhesive — is a two-part adhesive system composed of an acrylic resin (Part A) and a hardener/activator (Part B). When the two components are combined, a free-radical polymerization reaction begins immediately at room temperature, producing a tough, flexible, high-strength bond within minutes.
Unlike epoxy structural adhesives, which typically require 12–24 hours for full room-temperature cure, and unlike polyurethane adhesives that prioritize flexibility over rigidity, MMA structural adhesive occupies a unique performance position: fast cure, excellent toughness, broad substrate compatibility, and reduced surface preparation requirements.
