Industry Development of Die Casting Mold

New Technologies of Die Casting Mold Surface Treatment

A variety of die casting mold surface treatment of new technologies continue to emerge, but in general can be divided into the following three broad categories.

(1) the traditional heat treatment process improvement technology - traditional die casting mold heat treatment process is quenching - tempering, and later developed the surface treatment technology. As the die casting mold can be used as a variety of materials, the same surface treatment technology and process applied to different materials will produce different results. (2) surface modification technology, including surface thermal expansion infiltration treatment, surface phase change strengthening, EDM strengthening technology, etc.-this type includes carburizing, nitriding, boron infiltration and carbonitriding, sulfur-carbonitriding, etc. Carburizing process applied to cold, hot work and plastic mold surface strengthening, can improve mold life. Such as 3Cr2W8V steel die-casting mold, first carburizing, then 1140 ~ 1150 ℃ quenching, 550 ℃ tempering twice, the surface hardness can reach HRC56 ~ 61, so that die-casting non-ferrous metals and their alloys die life increased by 1.8 ~ 3.0 times.

It is suitable for die-casting zinc, lead and other low melting point non-ferrous alloy parts, and can be widely used in industrial sectors such as automobile, motorcycle parts, instruments and meters, daily-use hardware and household appliances. Cold chamber die casting machine is a kind of die casting machine in which the injection chamber and the injection punch are not immersed in the molten metal, but the quantitative molten metal is poured into the injection chamber and then the injection is carried out. The cold chamber die casting machine is vertically placed.
