TMAH Developer is a commonly used developer, and its main component is tetramethylammonium hydroxide. TMAH is an organic base with strong alkalinity, which can cause the developer to deposit on the silver salt grains to form a black silver image. On the other hand, it has its unique characteristics, that is, it will not leave metal ions during use, and can be decomposed into trimethylamine gas and methanol gas without leaving any traces after heating, and can be widely used in the modern electronics industry. In addition to TMAH, our company will also add some independently developed additives to adjust the speed and effect of the developer. In order to avoid the collapse of the photoresist lines, a small amount of surfactant can also be added to the TMAH aqueous solution.

TMAH has strong alkalinity
Tetramethylammonium hydroxide (TMAH) is a strong alkalinity organic base with a molecular formula of (CH3)4NOH. Its strong alkalinity is mainly reflected in its pH value greater than 13. It can quickly absorb carbon dioxide in the air to form carbonates, and its alkalinity is stronger than common inorganic bases such as sodium hydroxide (NaOH) and potassium hydroxide (KOH). The strong alkalinity of TMAH comes from the quaternary ammonium cations (CH3)4N+ and hydroxide ions OH− in its molecular structure. This structure makes it completely ionized in water and exhibits strong alkalinity.
