Calcium Carbide for Welding 7-15 mm
is widely used in various industrial processes, including nitrogen fixation in cyanamide production and sulfur removal in the steelmaking industry. This chemical compound appears as a gray to black solid and exhibits high reactivity with water. With a density of approximately 2.22 g/cm³ and a molecular formula of CaC₂, it plays a crucial role in the production of acetylene, which is essential for oxyacetylene welding. In ladle treatment facilities, Calcium carbide 7-15 mm for acetylene production acts as an efficient deoxidizer and serves as a fuel to enhance the scrap ratio to liquid iron in steelmaking processes.
The use of calcium carbide
(1) Acetylene from calcium carbide with water can synthesize many organic compounds. For example: synthetic rubber, artificial resin, acetone, ketene, carbon black, etc; At the same time, acetylene oxygen flame is widely used for metal welding and cutting.
(2) When heating powdered calcium carbide with nitrogen, the reaction generates calcium cyanamide, which is called lime nitrogen. The cyanide melt generated by the reaction of heated lime nitrogen with table salt is used in gold mining and non-ferrous metal industries.
(3) Calcium carbide itself can be used as a desulfurizer in the steel industry.
