Appearance ：white crystal or powder, slightly formic acid smell.
Sodium formate is one of the simplest organic carboxylate, white crystal or powder, slightly formic acid odor. Slightly deliquable and hygroscopic. Soluble in water and glycerin, slightly soluble in ethanol, insoluble in ether. Its aqueous solution is alkaline. Sodium formate is harmless to the human body and can irritate the eyes, respiratory system and skin.
Application
(1)Mainly used in the production of formic acid, oxalic acid and insurance powder, etc., and also used in the production of dimethylformamide.
(2)Also used in medicine, printing and dyeing industryas reducing agent and stabilizer, also heavy metal precipitating agent.
(3)Used as reagents, disinfectants and mordants for the determination of phosphorus and arsenic;
(4)Used as a preservative. It has a diuretic effect
(5)Used in alkyd resin coatings, plasticizers, high explosives, acid resistant materials, aviation lubricating oil, adhesive additives
(6)It is used in the leather industry as a camouflage acid in chrome tanning, as a catalyst and as a stabilizing synthetic agent
(7)Used as a deicing agent for roads and airports

Sodium formate should be stored in a dry, clean and ventilated warehouse to avoid damage and moisture, and should not be stacked in the open air. Keep away from heat sources, furnaces, and direct sunlight. Store separately from oxidants, acids and alkalis.
