盐酸伐地那非是治疗男性勃起功能障碍的药物，是勃起功能障碍的一线治疗药物。由德国拜耳研制成功，2002年首次在美国上市。与西地那非一样，属于第二代5型磷酸二酯酶抑制剂，起效非常迅速，约需15-20分钟。效果比西地那非强十倍。临床资料显示，50岁以上男性糖尿病患者中，有50%～60%患有勃起功能障碍，而糖尿病引起的神经血管损伤引起的勃起功能障碍尤其难以治疗。拜耳开发的强效选择性磷酸二酯酶5（PDE5）抑制剂伐地那非可能会给糖尿病引起的勃起功能障碍患者带来福音。这些药物被用作一次性治疗药物。性交前1小时左右口服后，可选择性抑制PDE5的作用，阻断性刺激后释放的一氧化氮（NO）诱导的cGMP降解，增加其浓度，舒张动脉和血管。平滑肌，增强勃起功能，偶有头痛、脸红、胃部不适、色觉障碍等不良反应。
三种选择性5型磷酸二酯酶（PDE5）抑制剂：西地那非（Cialis）、盐酸伐地那非（Levitra）和他达拉非都是治疗ED的一线药物；在有效性、安全性和耐受性方面，PDE5抑制剂与阿扑吗啡没有显着差异；海绵体内注射前列腺素E1是ED的二线治疗；尿道内注射前列腺素E1比海绵体内注射前列腺素E1效果更差。结论是PDE5抑制剂治疗ED有效、耐受性好且安全；阿扑吗啡、前列腺素E1海绵体内注射、前列腺素E1尿道内给药等治疗方法也有效，效果较好。宽容
