cylindrical roller bearings
A cylindrical roller bearing is a type of radial rolling bearing that uses cylindrical rollers as rolling elements, designed for line contact with the raceway.
Key Components
Inner/Outer Ring: Typically features one or two ribs to guide roller movement.
Cylindrical Rollers: High-precision rollers, available in symmetric or logarithmic profiles to reduce edge stress.
Cage: Made of brass, steel, or polymer, ensuring even roller distribution.
Characteristics
High Radial Load Capacity: Approximately 2-3 times that of a ball bearing of the same size.
Moderate Axial Load Capacity: Depends on the rib design.
Suitable for High Speeds: Optimized cage designs allow speeds up to 20,000 rpm.
