IR DETECTOR TYPES
Infrared fire detectoris a device to detect infrared radiation and transform it into thermal images. Every object with a temperature over the absolute zero point which is emits infrared (IR) radiation. An infrared detector detects and measures the infrared energy of objects and converts it into an electric image that shows the apparent surface temperature of the object being measured.
InfiRay® infrared detector adopts self-developed microbolometer in a variety of resolution (384×288, 640×512, 1280×1024, 1920×1080), pixel size (8μm, 10μm, 12μm, 14μm, 17μm…), and packaging method (metal packaging, ceramic packaging, wafer-level packaging).

12μm All Digital Output
All of InfiRay® 12μm infrared detectors has integrated digital output function on the chip directly, which makes them easy to be integrated into terminal application platforms and devices. The image and temperature data can be used for analysis and secondary processing.
Low Noise
Low noise means clear images, rich details, and accurate temperature data. It makes the detected object or the observation target crisp and clear from the background environment, even if the environment is complex and harsh.
HOW DOES INFRARED DETECTOR WORK?
The human eye is only sensitive to visible light. Infrared light is invisible to the human eye. Infrared radiation is everywhere! Objects above absolute zero (-273°C) constantly radiate infrared rays. Infrared Detector technology can transform the target's thermal radiation into a visible image to the human eyes.
Infrared imaging is a technology that can convert invisible infrared radiation into a visible image of temperature mapping via a specific device. The image can indicate the heat distribution on the object surface, so it is also called a "thermal image". This device is called Infrared Detector.
COOLED VS UNCOOLED THERMAL CAMERA
According to the method of thermal imaging, infrared detectors can be divided into cooled infrared detectors and uncooled infrared detectors. Uncooled infrared detectors work under the normal ambient temperature, while cooled infrared detectors work under extremely low temperatures.
Uncooled infrared detectors are compact, lightweight, and cheap without the surrounding package of the cooling systems. They are born for portable applications that have high requirements of small size and light weight, including outdoor night vision, security monitoring, and industrial temperature measurement.
Cooled infrared detectors all require a cooling system around them to ensure a low operating temperature. The cooling system brings high sensitivity, high power consumption, and also makes it heavy and expensive. They are usually used in gas detection, border surveillance and other applications require more sensitivity and accuracy.
