High-purity phosphatidyl serine

Phosphatidyl serine is an important membrane phospholipid found in bacteria, yeast, plants, and mammalian cells. It is also a natural component of food and breast milk. Meat and fish contain phosphatidyl serine and are found in relatively high amounts in the brain or internal organs (such as the liver and kidney). Phosphatidylserine can be extracted from natural soybean oil residue.
Phosphatidyl serine play an important role in regulating various functions of the brain, especially memory and emotional stability of the brain, it can affect the fluidity and permeability of cell membranes and activate many metabolism and enzyme syntheses. Phosphatidylcholine (19%), phosphatidyl ethanolamine (16%), phosphatidyl serine (10%), and sphingomyelin (8%) are present on the human erythrocyte membrane. Only phosphatidyl serine on the membrane has a net negative charge, which contributes to the asymmetry of the membrane. It also activates damaged surface prothrombin. Together, phosphatidyl serine and phosphatidylcholine enable the interconversion of phosphatidylglycolamines in the body.
