(2) IEC 60754-1 – Test on Gases Evolved During Combustion of Materials from Cables – Part 1: Determination of the Amount of Halogen Acid Gas
(3) IEC 60754-2 – Test on Gases Evolved During Combustion of Materials from Cables – Part 2: Determination of Acidity (by pH Measurement) and Conductivity

Features

Tube furnace heating system adopts a temperature control module combined with a power regulator and PID control to ensure uniform and stable temperature rise.
Protective enclosure with perforated structure improves heat dissipation while protecting the furnace body.
Heat-resistant quartz tube is used for both gas transmission and specimen heating, with ground joints to enhance sealing performance.
Ceramic combustion boat is driven by a strong magnetic mechanism and transmission rod, ensuring stable and precise movement of specimens into the furnace core zone.
Lead screw transmission mechanism enables accurate positioning and smooth operation of the traction tube, reducing the risk of quartz tube damage caused by manual operation.
Imported precision rotameter controls carrier gas flow, combined with branded pressure gauge and pressure regulator to ensure stable airflow.
Dual filter columns filled with activated carbon and color-changing silica gel are used to purify and dry the carrier gas.
PLC and touchscreen control system enables intelligent temperature regulation and improved furnace temperature accuracy.
Built-in test programs for total halogen acid gas, conductivity, pH value, and quartz tube cleaning, with stored standard reference values.
Supplied with complete testing accessories including washing bottles, beakers, graduated cylinders, and magnetic stirrers.
High-quality pH meter and conductivity meter are included for accurate measurement of solution acidity and conductivity.

Test Procedures
Prepare the cable specimen according to the relevant standard requirements and place it in the ceramic combustion boat.
Insert the combustion boat into the quartz tube and position it outside the furnace heating zone.
Set the target furnace temperature according to the selected standard (800 °C for IEC 60754-1 or 950 °C for IEC 60754-2).
Start the carrier gas flow and ensure stable airflow through the system.
Move the combustion boat into the furnace core zone using the magnetic transmission mechanism.
Collect the combustion gases through the absorption system.
Measure the total halogen acid gas volume, pH value, and electrical conductivity according to the selected test method.
Complete the test and perform the quartz tube cleaning procedure using the built-in program.
Maintenance Information
Regular inspection of the quartz tube, sealing joints, and gas pipelines is recommended to ensure reliable test results. The filter materials in the purification columns should be replaced periodically based on usage conditions. Temperature calibration of the thermocouple and verification of pH and conductivity meters should be conducted according to laboratory quality management requirements. After each test, the quartz tube and glassware should be thoroughly cleaned to avoid cross-contamination.
