The Helmet Surface Friction Testing Machine
In the critical realm of head protection, a helmet's primary role is to absorb and deflect impact forces. High friction can cause a helmet to "stick" and transmit rotational forces directly to the head and neck, potentially leading to severe brain injuries. Purpose
The Helmet Surface Friction Tester presses a helmet onto a movable fixture with a certain force. The surface of the fixture is attached with sandpaper of the grain size specified in the standard. Then, the test helmet is moved across the surface of the sandpaper at a certain speed, so as to evaluate the abrasion - resistance performance of the helmet.
