Squeeze Die Casting
The squeeze die casting, also names extrusion casting or liquid die forging, is kind of newly developed metal forming technic which combines the casting process and die forging like method. The basic principle is to fill the liquid metal into the pre-lubricated mold cavity, then gives sustained pressure to the metal, thus forming the solidifying hard-shell. The metal crystallization and solidification process is conducted under the pressure, so the defects such as shrinkage and porosity are greatly diminished. An almost defects-all-free product could be achieved by this technic.
The Classification of Squeeze Die Casting
There are 2 subdivisions of the squeeze casting aluminum: the direct squeeze casting and indirect squeeze casting. The formal technic is to give the pressure directly on the surface of liquid metal, while the last technic is to pressure the liquid maintaining in the gating part of the casting mold. Usually the direct squeeze casting has better resulted product than the indirect squeeze casting.
Advantages of Squeezing Die Casting
Extrusion casting is a process method to obtain castings (or ingots) by applying high mechanical pressure to liquid (or semi-solid) metals and metal matrix composites that enter the casting mold at a low speed so that they can be formed and solidified under pressure.
