水轉印的全稱為曲面披覆印刷，顧名思義，即在凹凸不平的表面進行印刷，它克服了平面印刷印不到凹凸面，而且設備昂貴的缺點，同時因其使用範圍廣，實用性強，操作簡單，而倍受青睞，經過水轉印以後的產品，仿真度高，幾乎可達到以假亂真的程度，
目前可在五金類(銅、鐵、鋁、非金屬類...等）木材、鞋類、家庭用品、汽車內部裝潢、塑膠(ABS、PU、PP、PE、TPR、4FS、PVC......）、石材、電木、陶瓷...等多種材質的表面印刷，經水轉印的產品，其附加價值成倍提升，但生產成本相對較低。
目前水轉印市場發展很快，但多數地區尚待開發，遠遠滿足不了市場的需求。
