Titanium carbide powder with controllable particle size distribution
Titanium carbide powder exhibits excellent chemical stability, being insoluble in water, hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, and other common acids and alkalis. It only undergoes slow corrosion in hydrofluoric acid and hot concentrated sulfuric acid, making it suitable as raw material for corrosion-resistant coatings. When applied to metal surfaces via thermal spraying, it forms a wear-resistant coating with a thickness of 50–200 μm, extending the service life of components by 5–10 times. The oxygen content of the powder is below 0.1%, reducing oxidation reactions during sintering and ensuring the mechanical properties of the finished product. In petroleum drilling equipment, coatings made from this powder can withstand the high temperatures, pressures, and corrosive environments encountered underground.
