The nearly perfect cleavage, which is the most prominent characteristic of mica, is explained by thehexagonalsheet-like arrangement of itsatoms.About mica powder: Mica is a natural mineral composed of different proportions of potassium, aluminum, iron, water and magnesium. Mica is naturally occurring and is collected based on silicate minerals. It is formed into a thin plate or sheet structure, with different mineral compositions and common characteristics. Mica can maintain its elasticity and toughness even at high temperatures, which is why mica is most suitable for use in extreme humidity and temperature conditions. The mineral mica has an absorption range of 2% to 5%. Its refractive index is average, and the visible spectrum is 1.6. It has the ability to withstand and resist all chemicals, alkalis, gases, oils and acids.
Mica is used in a variety of products ranging fromdrywalls,paints, fillers, especially in parts for automobiles, roofing and shingles, electronics etc. Also used inblush, lip products and eye products. Other applications include nail polish, body powder, paint, glass, clay, resin and more. In some cases, even if mica powder is applied to oil, clear cream or acrylic, etc., the collection will appear darker.
