Because of the irregular arrangement of microcrystalline carbon in the structure of , there are pores between the cross-connections, which will produce too many organizational defects during activation, so it is a kind of porous carbon with low bulk density and large specific surface area. Activated carbon is odorless, tasteless, sand-free, insoluble in any solvent, has selective adsorption capacity for various gases, and has high-capacity adsorption capacity for organic pigments and nitrogen-containing alkalis. The total surface area per gram can reach 500-1000㎡. The relative density is about 1.9~2.1, and the surface relative density is about 0.08~0.45.
Iodine value: The iodine value is a performance difference of activated carbon. The iodine value of fruit shell, bamboo charcoal and coal are all in the hundreds. A variety of different adsorption capacity! The cost price is also different! Activated carbon with the same iodine value only has the best effect of coconut shell.
How does the Activated Carbon work?
